so i was at Tan Tock Seng Hospital the whole day.
well, nothing's wrong with me. it's Rajin.
poor gal, admitted again, and now CT scan showed appendicitis, KIV op tml morning.

pretty much disappointed with the nurses in the particular ward.
i may not be the President Award recipent, but at least, i do what's best and safe for my patients.
i mean, how could the nurses leave an old lady behind the curtains alone?
whatever.......

on the other hand, had lunch with Daniel at Subway.
he was still having the post-42km run symptoms. LOL!
had a nice chat with him, and he made me really sit down and think if nursing will be my career in the future, like say, 10years later?

it's The Standard Chartered Marathon 2008 today!
completed 10km with a timing of 1hr 10mins.
timing sucks. !@#$%^&*(
i was trying to get below an hour timing, but i nearly died at the up-slope. it was damn steep.
but for Bana, i was really glad that she finished the race despite her sprained ankle.

Jia Liang was at the near finishing line, waiting for his friends.
joined him for awhile and chatted abit.
afterwhich, left him and went on to have Subway with Bana, KeHin and his friends.

knocked out till 5pm.
and here i am going to think things/activities to do for the next 5 days.
cause, i'm on leave. YIPPIE!

caught this movie at Cineleisure this afternoon with KeHin, Eng Siang and Xiang Ting.
overall, not bad. but i've seen better Xmas movies.
i guess Bedtime Stories starring Adam Sandler will be a good one.

so, ate noodles for lunch, dinner-ed at Breeks and Earthquake at Swensen's.
oh gosh~! i was so !@#$%^&*()_ full! LOL!

was thinking of getting Xmas pressies for The Gang, but nothing caught my attention.
got some good buys in Cotton On. and i'm still missing the blue dress i saw in Collage. argh~!

imagine nursing 7 to 8 babies, all crying at the same time. you will go bonkers.
but at least i got Yoke Leng with me for 2 nights.

met Belle and Rachel for a GREAT DINNER at Pearl River Palace, which is located at Suntec Convention Level 3.
had the Eat-All-You-Can Dinner Buffet, and i tell you, the food was HEAVENLY DELICIOUS!
let's see, mini Buddha Jump Over Wall, Peking Duck, Steamed Fish, Wasabi Prawns etc etc...Yum Yum!

went Zouk last night, cause it's Wei Siang's bday.
Belle and i were so sleepy while the rest were at the dancefloor.
and Rachel got drunk. Tsk~

oh ya, Belle and i swopped ICs before entering Zouk.

theatre was packed with children. and then, we realised we are turning 21 real soon.
the couple beside us was disturbed by our laughter.

did some shopping. and i bought Gucci Rush 2 at a REAL CHEAP deal!

retail price: $137. and i bought it for $69.

we got ourselves a new haircut.
yeah, again.

went for a run with Daniel last night. (ya, our meet up was finaly finalised. LOL!)
he took me to a 8-9km to and fro route. rather shack though.

any weird things happened? not much, i guess. except for the flushing of toilet bowl.
it still kept me wondering.

went for Big Walk with the ICU ladies.
kinda cocked up.
but we girls still had lots of fun.

lunch-ed at KFC and we headed to ECP.
cycled for 4 hours. (ya, i can't cycle.)
cycled the 2-men bicycle with Jasmine. LOL!

completed another 15km this morning.
the terrain was oh so rough to run.
mud, rocks, sand plus the sorching sun above you.
and a filled large intestine. oh damn~!

took me 2 hours to complete the 15km. kns.
finally reached the finishing point, grabbed a can of 100plus and rushed to get my finisher tee, and they only left with size S onwards. argh~!

it's ok. good thing is, the tee is in red, nice color.

Mahjong-ed yesterday with Xiang Ting, Chi Peng and Eng Siang.
it's been long since i last touch the tiles.
Eng Siang was the biggest loser. LOL!

Dinner-ed at Blk 418. and headed home.
got out of house again just half an hour later or so. met up with the same people again. LOL!

rushed down to the bakery and got a cake and headed down to Yishun Dam and celebrated Ke Hin's 22nd bday. (though it was one day in advanced.)
shall get the pics from Chi Peng soon.

2 weeks of annual leave is coming to an end.
i'm going back to work on tuesday. like, finally.

day to night out with icu ladies. oh, and with Wei Xiang too. but he came to join us late in the night.

had dinner at a Korean restaurant.
wootz~! the food was heavenly delicious. and the price is reasonable too.
it's located behind Parco Bugis, and the thing is, i forgot the restaurant name. LOL!

it was definitely a satisfying meal.
just look at the empty pot.

Rachel suggested to try out TopOne KTV.
hmmm....overall, we will NEVER go there again!
firstly, the service real sucks.
secondly, the room provided for 6 is equivalent to a room for 3.
thirdly, vodka 7up, oh my, waste of our money.
i guess, i'll stick Partyworld or K-Box.

The Gang is finally meeting up.
a simple meal at Fish Market on monday.

went back ICU for my blood taking session for the annual health screening.
i thought it will be a 5-10mins thingy, it turned out i was there for more than 45mins.

i got good, pretty, prominent veins in my right arm, and the 3 Sisters had to puncture and made my veins collasped.
i was poked 5 times just to take 12mls of blood for sample.

swimming session wasn't great this morning.
pool was packed with kids. tsk~

ep167. my first 10km.

woke up around 5am this morning, got myself ready for my first 10km run.

previously known as The Terry Fox Run.
a run to raise funds for cancer research.
estimated of 15,000 people were present.
from what i saw, mostly were army guys, handful of healthcare workers etc.

well, Chuan Bao ran followed my pace. and we both finished the run within 1hr 15mins.
saw Wen Han at the finishing point where he was busy taking photographs.
had Mac for breakfast and the 3 of us toally knocked out in the train.
reached home and slept through the whole afternoon.

went for some dinner at Orchid Country Club. i thought it was a family gathering from my paternal side, it turned to be a Hakka (a dialect) Association function. '_'"
the elders were speaking in Hakka, and i don't understand a single word. my granduncle was sort of 'lecturing' me of why i don't know how to speak or even understand the dialect. and he went on and on about the ansectors thingy. luckily, one of my uncle came to my rescue. phew~
dinner was okay, service was so-so, red wine was alright.
all in all, it's a free dinner, so i shall not comment further.

and my mother still went on saying that my approved leave was too long.

i was discussing with my brother on going back to visit my grandparents, then head to KL. he will confirm with me again, i hope it will be finalised.

if not, i guess, i'll be spending 2 weeks exploring Singapore. LOL!

i'm so glad that i had fully utilised the morning sun.
swimming and tanning and chatting session with Xiang Ting.
and we are much darker.

swam quite alot of laps this morning, wanted to stop and rest, but Xiang Ting was telling me to carry on swimming. tsk~
we were shacked.
lunched at KFC, and headed home.

bought a digital weighing scale at Guardian.
and it kept on showing 'Err'. KNS~! my brother and i couldn't figure out what went wrong.

i've finally went to Nokia Care Centre and collected my beyond repair phone.
the lady laughed at me when she knew i dropped my phone into the water. -_-"

had lunch at Seoul Garden with Eng Siang, and we both smell of smoke. tsk~
wasn't allow to donate my blood due to low Hb of 12.5 plus my last donation was July, didn't meet the 3months yet.

anyways, finally a K-session with Mike.
3 of us has 4 hours of fun. and Mike cam-whored with my phone.

attended Mock Code this morning with Linda.
actually, mock code is more for the Medical Officers to get familiarise with.
3 MOs with both of us, each MO took up the role of a leader for each scenario.

the 'child' passed away for the first two scenarios. Boo Hoo!
the last scenario, the 'child' was alive under Kenneth Chua's directions.

i was shacked after doing 15 cycles of 30compressions.
debrief session by Dr. Siti, all in all, the code went quite well.
while walking back to ICU, Linda told me i did a good job.
i didn't do 450 compressions for nothing, LOL! (of course, there's other things that i did.)

the person in-charge of the Run for Hope, still haven't send me an email telling me when to collect my racepack yet.
bloody hell! the HR better not cheat my money. LOL!

the ICU is going partial computerised wef next month onwards.
which means, less papers!
goodbye to doctors' fugly handwriting.
goodbye to torn clinical charts/notes.(all thanks to doctors)

pros and cons of Clinical Information System (CIS):
pros:
1) no more smudging of pen ink/liquid paper on my fingers.(though i just bought 1 box of black pens.)
2) doctors will not 'rape' my case sheets.
3) ICU transfer summary can be done MUCH more faster.
4) NO MORE ugly handwriting by our beloved doctors.
5) parents/visitors will not be able to flip through the case sheets.(as we will lock the case sheets in one compartment.)

cons:
1) might be too dependent on the computer-on-wheels (COW).
2) password to be change after every 100th login.
3) to save data after every parameters taking.
4) many many more wires. ( from computer, drip/syringe pumps etc, potential hazard. LOL!)

and i seriously realised that KKH is damn rich!
18 COWs in CICU! (1 for each bed) plus 2 more at the nurses' station.
give us more bonuses lah!!

i was called to go for Mock Code tomorrow morning. Oh my god!
Mock Code? it's a Code Blue (event in which CPR is needed, and E-drugs need to be given stat, intubation is needed if necessary.) simulation.
i'm the first junior to attend within my batch.
oh..........

by then, Rachel was already CMI. Wei Xiang's was totaly shack. Annabelle, Si Yun and i were going to fall asleep. only Jasmine and Janet stayed for round 4.

told her about my plan of taking degree next year, but she told me to get an advanced diploma first, followed by a degree.

oh my, i don't like at all, and i'll refuse to try it again.

went Lime Market. well, overall, so-so lah.
got 2 belts at $20. one for twin, one for me.
after which, Si Yun and i parted. she went on to meet her friends, and i headed to AMK

met up with The Usuals guys (Mike, Chi Peng and Eng Siang) early in the morning for Mac breakfast.
no no, that's not the purpose. LOL!

0900hrs, boarded bus no. 855 and we headed to Harborfront. yup, that's where our starting point was. Marang Trail.
you're right. we tried out walking the Southern Ridge Trail.
1030hrs, started walking from Marang Trail.
1430hrs, ended at West Coast Highway.
(Chi Peng was too shack to walk till the actual finishing point--West Coast Park.)
1530hrs, walked back to VivoCity, had a good meal at Thai Express.
1700hrs, 3 scoops of Haagen Daz ice cream with a pathetic small waffle cost us bloody $25! !@#$%^&*()
1830hrs, back to Yishun. all 4 of us concussed in the bus. Bana the 'pang seh kia' met us.
1920hrs, watched Make It Happen. hmmm... nothing really happened in the movie. i read one of the reviews online it stated "an example of a bad movie." LOL!

busy changing lines, tubings, catheter for patient.
didn't manage to see fireworks from ICU, but all i could hear was 'pak! pak! pak!', the sound of the fireworks.

another busy morning.
nursed a 40% burnt child.
did a 2 hours long dressing for him.
Si Yun was in the isolation room just beside mine, we were signalling to one another, even Dr Lee played along with us. LOL!

i hate my next week roster. day off in the middle of nowhere. sheesh~

if you people had read the paper, yes, ICU coded blue the other day, and a young kid passed away due to HFMD. encepalitis can be so scary.
what's more important is Hand Washing. i asked Dr.Wong what are the chances of adults getting HFMD, well, she said adults too can get. ooohhh... personal hygiene is important.
i've already seen 5 deaths in the past 4 months.

and i'm in a PH-mood.

the weather has been extremely good this few days, and of cause, i will not waste this 'good deal.'

had been running these past 2 days. and my timing improved, so proud of myself.
i shall make it a point to go for a run at least 5 times a week.
it's about self-discipline ya?

i was tempted to register for the Great Eastern Women 10k run.
but Bana and Xiang Ting are not free, so we've decided to register for the Standard Chartered Marathon 2008.
!!!!!???? nah, not the 42km. we will die. just 10km is good enough.
apart from the company that i'll be having during the run, what attracts me most is the goodie bag.
LOL! free shoebag, running attire, discount vouchers and many many more.
(yes, Xinni loves free gifts.)

it's always patients, family members, colleagues, doctors, nurse managers etc etc that we are dealing with.

at this point of time, i'm so tired of working.
i need a break. (when will it be? i don't know.)
i've been working my ass off, not eating and sleeping well.

because of the BCLS course(which ended 2 hours earlier), i gotta start work at 1300hrs today and tml.
it's ok. i didn't complain much.

when i just stepped into ICU, the NM told me to take charge of a new case coming from SGH. a RTA(Road Traffice Accident) case.
so i prepared everything. from ventilator, resuscitator, syringe pumps, put up all the necessary forms etc etc.

was in the midst of helping Belle to sponge her patient, when SSN Zhang called out my name," Xinni! new case coming in 5mins time."
oh damn~! Si Yun took over me and i rushed back to the cubicle and waited for the case to come.

the child was so restless, kicking here and there, pulling out all her lines/tubes. sedation couldn't knocked her off. and so after 3 hours of settling her down, doing all those procedures, i thought i finally could sit down and write my report.
but NO! she woke up and struggled again. took some time for me to settle her down. i kept on purging midazolam to knock her off.

and when this time round, when i wanted to scribble some report, it's time for handing over.
and !@#$%^&*(, i didn't even went for my dinner, i didn't even have time to take a sip of water.
by the time i passed the report to Kak Midah, it was already 2100hrs.

i felt like there's something i haven't done for the child. but i just can't seem to recall. hopefully no calls from ICU tonight.
please let me sleep in peace.

i hope both the child and her sister are fine.(both of them got knocked down by lorry)

i woke 5am this morning all thanks to Yew Chao's sms.
bathed, online-ed and lazed around till 7am.
went out and met the guys for brekkie before heading to YTSS for AAR.

AAR was kinda peaceful, except for some extras. !@#$%^&*(
all in all, it ended on time. lunch-ed at the CIs' favourite place and headed home to sleep, like finally.

but y sleep was interrupted by Eng Siang. argh!~
went out again and met them for dinner and walked around pasar malam.
spent 9bucks playing games and exchanged for a balloon hammer. and Shi De had to spoil it. LOL!

ya, met up with the YTSS CIs, and we were quite surprised that they joined us for the KTV session.(before that, they had already sang for 4hours earlier in the noon.)
called Bana up and she took cab down and joined us too! feeling guilty for calling her up so late, so i promised to pay 10bucks for her ride home.

so we sang and sang, and towards the end, god knows why, Eng Siang high-ed himself.
dude, you should be feeling sad. HAHA~!

went for swim before heading off to work this morning.
i was already shacked even before i started working.
so, i was rather occupied with the child the whole day.
he turned bad. real bad. the doctors classified him as DIL(dangerously ill) now.

the parents/family members were informed.
all i could see was their teary eyes.

i've always been a strong girl. but upon hearing that, somehow, no matter how strong a person may be, deep down inside, we will feel something too.
we are all humans afterall.
i can't say i understand how the parents felt, cause i got no children.

watched Step Up 2 with The Usuals(w/o Mike & Bana), Fu Lin, Eng Siang and the YEC Gang.
the sitting arrangement was planned by me and Chi Peng, so that Godfather would get his chance. LOL!

anyways, the movie was definitely way better than Step Up 1.
though, i'm a not move-to-the-groove person, but i prefer street dance/freestyle more.
the dance moves were god-damn COOL~! wootz.....

parted with the YEC Gang, met up with Mike, and we took bus to Upp Thomson Road to have our supper over at Han's.
initially, our plan was to head down to Geylang and eat durians, but thinking of the cab fare, made our hearts ache. guess having a car is the most convenient way.

slack-ed at coffee shop with Chi Peng and Fu Lin till 4am.
what did we talk about? that i totally can't recall.

i was being locked out of house for 10mins or so.

i've just received my official results transcript from NYP.
i'm satisfied with my GPA score. 2.593. i'm just an average student. Haha~!

she was here to check on my toilets and kitchen.
and, bad news, she found some larvae. SHIT!

after the NEA personnel left, my mother went 'hysterical' and started blaming me and sister for bathing too long. HUH!? WTH? (we don't spend 1/2 an hour inside the toilet.)

the movie was running for 126mins. storyline was so-so. but i must say, the husband was really sweet though.

Chi Peng finally turned 18 yesterday.
had dinner at Sakura with the YEC Gang and The Usuals.

after dinner, it was ktv time!
played dice with the guys and the forfeit--- drink!

birthday boy had 2 bags of vomitus.
Mengxiang couldn't take it anymore either.
Bana and I were feeling tipsy.
i think only Mike and Yew Chao were the last one standing.

reached home around 0115hrs.
managed to shower, and I only KO-ed after i puke. Haha! tsk~

i wonder how the rest get up for school or work this morning.

once upon a time, twin got to use Mr.Saini's car, and off the 3 girls go.
exploring Singapore was what they did.

twin, the driver was in-charge of driving, making turns, driving into KPE. HAHA!
me, the GPS for the day, was reading The Storybook aka Street Directory to find our ways to the destination.
Rajin, the camera-lady. well, she knows her landmarks well! don't ever look down on her anymore!

all in all, 3 of us had fun today. my last warnings will never come, twin chanted @#%^^!!! and Rajin knows her SMU and Cheers...

twin got us safely home.
and we live happily ever after.

so the late afternoon or rather evening started with a meal at Earle Swensen's, which i think the food was o...k...
maybe i should have listen to him and had Marche instead. LOL.

well, the story plot wasn't that nice. the actors were basically jumping around.
but who cares, Hayden Christensen is so good looking. i admit i was looking at him throughout the whole movie.

headed over to Timbre to enjoy live music.
nice ambience, good drinks, good music...... i just hate the tree which was blocking our view.
overall, it's a nice place to chill out.

Twin is REALLY excited about the girls' trip.
i am already thinking what i should buy from Genting and KL.
2 more weeks to the trip.

i had been on the losing streak for this CNY.
The Usuals together with KeHin came over my place and played Blackjack for 3 hours.
Bana was on a winning streak. it's the place that she was sitting. you know, good fengshui~

after which, headed to Teck Liang sir house. and the cycle started all over again.
won a few rounds, and lost the following rounds. tsk~ in the end, not much left.
Bana's luck continued, and same for Chi Peng.

we were the last group to leave his house, and we headed to AMK Hub for dinner.
Eng Siang treated us Fish & Co. he was feeling skyhigh. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE NICE AND FILLING DINNER! =)

visiting at Mr and Mrs Chan's house this afternoon.
it was alright, as usual, the CIs made themselves at home.
eating, drinking and cam whoring at the dining table.
Mr Chan said clearly," No gambling!" ok. got it.

Mr Tan brought his 2 month son, Mika along.
Mika is so cute~~~ i carried and played with him. ( i think he could sense my nurse aura.)
i definitely agreed that the grown-ups do the stupidest thing when they see a baby.
and Bana is one of them. Haha~!

watched Ah Long Pte Ltd with The Usuals.

i definitely had a good laugh during the movie.
i was wondering why the 8 Days' critic would give it 1/2 star. no sense of humor?
though some parts were kinda confusing, but it's the m'sian accent from Mark Lee that made the movie so funny.

won a small amount over at Eng Siang's place.

it's only like the 3rd day of the holidays, and i'm already feeling bored.

ya.... i've just finished the whole of season 2 of Grey's Anatomy, and i think my eyesight is getting worst.

i need my eyes check soon. very soon.
i may need a pair of specs again.
i think i may end up wasting money making a pair of new specs, because i'll just put it aside after wearing it for like a few days?

i think i need to see a doctor again. cuz i've been eating too much 'ba kua', and i'm kinda losing my voice.

i want to revamp my room, cuz i find it too messy.
i'm having a master room, and i should make full use of it.
a plasma tv. a new desktop. new wall color. a nice retro clock. etc etc etc.
ok. i'm dreaming.

i'm not in a sound mind now.
this holidays could drive me nuts if i keep on staying at home. my mother would make use of this hols and turn me into a part-time maid! (without being paid)

my table is messy and i haven't tidy my stuff.
they are all over my table. there's all these expired BK coupons, receipts, used papers, many many pens, a N95 mask and all my nursing stuff.
(don't ask me what is that N95 mask doing on my table, it just happened that i took it home one fine day.)

whatever it is, the bottomline is, i need to go out. a holiday before i enter the Children's ICU and work my ass off to get ONE pathetic day off.

and finally, today we met up, with new member.... Derrick!

had an early dinner at Swensens and Bana came to join us for 'earthquake'.

we couldn't think of any places to go, plus we didn't know what to do, so we decided to catch a movie. The House (a Thai horror movie).

Bana and i were practically screaming, covering our ears, eyes and mouth. that's the thrill.
the guys, as per normal, either they laughed at some scary scenes or fell asleep.

Mike came to join us and we headed over to Bottle Tree Park to slack.
we played game and Mike is always playing the game HIS WAY!
just as we were having fun, shouting and scolding each other, one !@#$%^&* uncle came to talk to us.

i was out for more than 15hours today.
i'm tired. my legs are aching. yes. i'm complaining again.

watched 27 Dresses. the different kinds of bridesmaids' dresses were nice and cute. some looked funny though. overall, the movie was nice.

dinner at Asian Kitchen. food was so-so. it's because i needed proper food-rice, and he wanted to try it too.

we've been at Vivocity since morning and i tired of walking, so he suggested to go Terminal 3.
T3 looked like a shopping mall. something similar to Suntec City. HAHA!
we stood at the viewing mall at T1. talked and laughed about lots of things.

had a long day. but i felt that i was kinda being pampered.

my boring day off.

went over to Yio Chu Kang swimming complex. wanted to go for a swim, but i was so lazy, so i just lied down on the deck chair and sun-tanned. HAHA!

initially, i wanted to head over to the library to search for the new Tess Gerristen's novel, but, i was lazy to go all over to Woodlands. so i headed home from YCK.

was craving for some Caramel Macchiato, but again, i was lazy to go up till 2nd level.

so went home and slacked the whole day.
i guessed this is how i'll spend my days off from now on.
